Abstract: Courses with Lamon wool return
Finally, after months of waiting, the wool of our Lamon sheep is ready to go back to being the “star” of our winter courses.
This time the wool has been worked in such a way as to obtain a wick yarn; a thick single-headed yarn, a little irregular but softer, easy and quick to work both for beginners and for those with more experience.
Starting from the month of December, more or less monthly, the Park and the artisans from time to time involved, propose a series of afternoons dedicated to knitwear workshops but not only; will be useful moments to learn more about this precious product, which is the natural virgin wool, help to maintain an endangered breed and, last but not the least, will be great to devote some time to it, so you can relax through the careful work of your hands.

Saturday 13 January: Geometric wool
With the garter stitch, the straight or circular needles and the subsequent felting in the washing machine, you get a surprise bag!
Necessary: normal needles n of 4 + a third needle for the closure of the stitches, wool needle. This object combines the use of the rules of geometry in the binding process with the technique of felting in the washing machine. The wool needed to make the envelope is provided by the organization and included in the cost.
By: Alice Liotto. It will be realized: a surprise bag with normal needles or circular needles; completed the realization will be given indications for felting to be done at home. The technique of machine felting is very common in Norway and allows to produce robust three-dimensional objects, with the thermal and insulating characteristics of the felt, as well as with curious three-dimensional shapes.
Tecnice: knitted mesh (straight or circular), increases, three-needle closure technique, felting in the washing machine.
Difficulty: easy.

Saturday 27 January: Irish Style
What do you get by working Lamon wool with traditional Irish stitches? A warm headband to face the cold!
Necessary: Needles n’ 4.5 + auxiliary needle, marker and knitting needle. The wool needed to make the band is provided by the organization and included in the cost. For those who wish, with the help of appropriate indications, the band can then be transformed into a wrap-around cap.
By: Olata Knit. It will be realized: a warm band with normal needles using the traditional Irish stitches; for those who want it will be given indications to turn the band into a wrap-around cap.
Technics: knitting on scheme. Weaving in Aran style.

Saturday 17 February: Color wool
Do you want to match a particular color to the natural dyed wool? Here is the course for you!
Required: 1 apron + 1 pair of gloves, 1 old towel + 1 container/ nylon bag to bring home wet wool, paper and pen. The wool and dyeing materials are provided by the organization and included in the cost.

You will learn: to dye with food colors so you can customize the yarns according to your tastes and then make really unique garments. The dyeing process has been designed in such a way that it can be easily reproduced even in the home. At the end of the afternoon you can take home the lamon wool dyed by you.
Techniques: basic dyeing technique.
